Monofilament Recycling Program
Monofilament fishing line lasts up to 600 years in the environment where it can entangle wildlife, be eaten by a variety of species, and become hazardous to boaters and swimmers. Once monofilament is in the environment it can be very difficult to remove. The best way to protect our waters and wildlife from monofilament is to prevent it from being littered in the first place. Mono collection stations are a proven method to achieve this goal.

NSTU has installed several monofilament collection stations throughout our membership area. Below is a complete list of the mono collection stations currently installed within our membership area. If you live near one of these stations and would like to help out or would just like some more info please contact us.
